Amy’s last 4 EP albums were top of all Beatport releases as well as their respective genre category. Amy is the consummate musician-DJ, where all world-class styles are engaged in epic journey sets, delivering the same satiation as those listening to Paul Oakenfold in the late 90’s, or to the epic duo, Sasha and Digweed. In the current context of female DJs and the often misnomered genre of “techno”, Amy separates herself by bringing back transcendence, soul, theory, aural skills, music knowledge, history of music and history of house music- a feat that only the top five DJs in the world have achieved. There has never been an all-around consummate femme or MUSICIAN-DJ in general, across all genres of electronica, to engage tracks ranging from Beethoven to New Order to Three Drives on a Vinyl to Turandot, all within one live set.
Along with the art of deejaying, the Chicago native (birthplace of house music), also redeems the actual technique of deejaying, where she never uses computer programs like RecordBox or Traktor to mix using beatmatching by ear from this vinyl-trained, or current thumbdrive CDJ mixing artist. The only computer programs she engages are in the production studio, thereby never separating herself from her audience during a performance. Only FULL engagement between DJ and audience is rendered. In addition, Amy – as a classically trained opera singer at one of the top university music programs of the world – spontaneously sings and harmonizes LIVE on her monolithic sets, imbuing transcendence and soul upon the electronic genre.
The legendary esteemed music mogul Steven Machat signed her as the only DJ ever under his management, who helped form the careers of the late Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston , and icons like the Rolling Stones, Genesis, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Bobby Brown and many more. Steven bequeathed Amy to become the face of his late, beloved son Barron’s electronic label, HIPPOS IN TANKS (HIT) Records, whose distributors are Sony and Universal Music Records. Amy is the first underground electronic DJ to release with major distributor labels. Amy has taken it upon herself to perpetuate the legacy of Barron, to memorialize him and his dream in bringing non-conforming, edgy, intelligent dance music to the forefront of the commercial audience.
Amy’s mentor is the legendary founder of house music, Joe Smooth , whose epic PROMISED LAND not only impelled Chicago House music to take the global center-stage, but propelled names like Tenaglia and Oakenfold to take Joe’s house music to NYC, London, Ibiza and all across the world, and define the current electronic landscape.
She has headlined events for Milan and London Fashion Weeks, the Cannes Film Festival, major festivals and concerts around the globe, top posh discotheques, as well as the seminal clubs known for the best international DJ acts in the world such as Sankeys Ibiza, Cat and the Dog Tel Aviv, Gewolbe Cologne, Ultra and Winter Music Conference, BPM Music Festival, IDMA/ Miami Music Week and more.
